About
In Mathare Valley just outside Nairobi, one of Africa’s largest and poorest slums, MYSA (Mathare Youth Sports Association) has been combining team sports and community service since 1987. Today, MYSA engages around 20 000 boys and girls, linking mainly football with leadership training, environmental clean-ups, HIV/AIDS awareness programs, and other community service activities – all run by the youth themselves.
Here in the blog you can read the unedited stories about the everyday life for some of the youth involved in MYSA, as well as their work to make life better for themselves and the inhabitants of Mathare Valley.
Also, for each piece of Björn Borg kids underwear you buy, a part of the proceeds goes to MYSA.
We are proud to be a part of their world!
A special thank you to Social Initiative for help with quality assurance in the collaboration between Björn Borg and MYSA.
